The Cleveland Indians informed veterans Matt Joyce, Justin Grimm, Alex Wilson and Ryan Flaherty that they will not make the big league club. These moves hardly come as a surprise. Matt Joyce, Justin Grimm, Alex Wilson and Ryan Flaherty are not making the Major League roster. Matt Joyce is already with a new team. After his realease Joyce subsequently signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants. The Cleveland Indians outfield was filled with question marks entering Spring Training and the majority of the early results so far are certainly encouraging. Although there are some not so encouraging performances in Arizona. Granted it is Spring Training and the sample sizes are small, there is some bright spots to focus on. Leonys Martin This is the ultimate feel good story. Leonys Martin saw last season end prematurely due to a life-threatening illness. There is no doubt that Martin wants to get back on the field and prove to everyone he is still capable of being a productive outfielder. The Cleveland Indians have signed outfielder Matt Joyce. This is just the latest in late offseason signings for the Tribe. Veteran outfielder Matt Joyce has signed with the Cleveland Indians. It is a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training.
