Deshaun Watson on track to return

The Cleveland Browns quarterback is on track to return from his suspension. Deshaun Watson is on track to return following the conclusion of his 11-game suspension. That is according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. This would result in Watson's Browns debut taking place against his former team, the Houston Texans. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1582504633913704448?s=20&t=onLRXEtxYeErjkftIypf_w Without Deshaun Watson Cleveland has been treading water unsuccessfully. While the Browns have managed to win two games, three of their four losses have been by a combined six points. A porous defense and questionable decision making have resulted in this unspectacular start. It is not hard to imagine that the deficiencies in both departments would be less of an issue wit...

Myles Garrett has x-rays on shoulder

The Cleveland Browns star defensive end had x-rays on his shoulder. Myles Garrett was clearly in pain after going down to the ground in Cleveland's lopsided loss to New England Sunday. Garrett is expected to be fine as the x-rays came back negative. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1582514692932587520?s=20&t=onLRXEtxYeErjkftIypf_w This was the same shoulder that Myles Garrett injured in his car accident and ensuring that there are no further injuries is very important. Not only for Garrett's health, but the overall performance of what has been an underwhelming Browns defense. Being without Garrett would make one of the least effective defenses in the league somehow worse. The negative x-rays on his shoulder are a good sign as they will need all the help they can get...

Browns, Deion Jones revise contract

The Cleveland Browns and newly acquired linebacker Deion Jones have agreed to revise his contract. Jones will now be able to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season instead of being under contract for one more year. The two sides agreed to eliminate the 2023 season from his deal. https://twitter.com/FieldYates/status/1582013875368914948?s=20&t=Qya1nrSAM87-F_7zbllm6w Should Deion Jones be able to rediscover his form and be a productive player he will be able to cash in on a new deal (most likely elsewhere). This would be a win for both sides as Cleveland's defense is beyond dreadful and Jones needs to rebuild his value.

Browns dominated by Patriots

The Cleveland Browns were no match for the New England Patriots in their 38-15 loss. Different week, same story. The Cleveland Browns lost their third consecutive game, this time a 23-point drubbing courtesy of the visiting New England Patriots. For those who wanted the game to feel different that wish was granted. Cleveland was clearly outmatched from the start as the best coach of all time, Bill Belichick, was more than prepared for what the Browns had to offer. Kevin Stefanski was forced into having to ease into the run game rather than lead with it, resulting in a lopsided pass-run play call ratio early on which did not correct itself. Jacoby Brissett was called upon to attempt 45 passes while Nick Chubb only rushed 12 times for 56 yards. Brissett's 21 completions for 266 yards...

Bill Belichick praises Njoku, Chubb

The New England Patriots head coach heaped praise upon the two Cleveland Browns players. The Cleveland Browns will be taking on the New England Patriots this week and as per usual it is head coach Bill Belichick praising opposing players. This week Belichick spoke highly of David Njoku and Nick Chubb. Comparing the tight end to Browns legend Ozzie Newsome and saying Chubb is "as good as anybody" they will see. https://twitter.com/ZackCoxNESN/status/1580228171143618561?s=20&t=mre5P3133OcJHcjZAgATXg On one hand it is nice to hear the best coach of all time compliment Njoku and Chubb. On the other it is something that happens each and every week, even when the player(s) he is talking about may not be all that impressive. Usually it is a bit of a giveaway of who the Patriots p...

Browns defensive failure not surprising

The Cleveland Browns defense has been a complete failure this season and it should not be a surprise to anyone. Five weeks into the 2022 season and the defense of the Cleveland Browns has been a complete disaster. A unit that some (wrongly) expected to carry the team until Deshaun Watson makes his team debut has been one of the worst in the league. Considering the construction and utilization of this defense this is far from a surprise. The elephant in the room Yes, Joe Woods. Three years in and the defense of Woods is worse than ever. Cleveland has given up 440 yards on the ground in the last two games, including over 200 to one of the worst rushing attacks in the league (Chargers). Time and time again there are missed assignments resulting in big plays and teammates blaming ea...

Browns waive Forristall, release Rosen

The Cleveland Browns have made some roster adjustments. Miller Forristall has been waived and Josh Rosen has been released from the Cleveland Browns practice squad the team announced Monday. https://twitter.com/Browns/status/1579493689126440963?s=20&t=VeBugvSThIOpdD-mLkk5lw Both players were waived previously at the end of August before the season began only to be signed to the practice squad. Forristall actually saw some game action in two games this season while Rosen was nothing more than a practice squad body. Cleveland could very well bring both back at some point as they have a tendency to cycle through players on the practice squad.

Browns acquire Deion Jones from Atlanta

The Cleveland Browns made a trade with Atlanta in an effort to bolster their defense. It was not long after Sunday's loss that the Browns knew something had to change on defense. Cleveland agreed to terms with the Falcons to acquire linebacker Deion Jones from Atlanta. https://twitter.com/MaryKayCabot/status/1579458643187372032?s=20&t=Iupt56ESzW3NXK44unt0-Q Jones is yet to play this season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, but is eligible to be designated for return at any time. https://twitter.com/FredGreetham9/status/1579487755117420544?s=20&t=Iupt56ESzW3NXK44unt0-Q It is hard to imagine that Deion Jones will have to wait a long time before returning. The Browns defense is a disaster and Jones is a clear upgrade. Jones has shown to be more than ca...

Browns blow it against Chargers

The Cleveland Browns squandered a two-touchdown lead as they lost the visiting Los Angeles Chargers 30-28. The more things change, the more they stay the same. It is beyond comical at this point when it comes to the ways the Cleveland Browns find ways to lose. Cleveland was spotted 14 points early by the visiting Los Angeles Chargers and even held a 21-17 lead at the half. With momentum clearly in the Chargers favor, a very predictable second half played out as as Cleveland was outscored 13-7 and now sit at 2-3 on the year. At some point team personnel need to be held accountable and not just be the recipient of a stern talking to. Los Angeles came into this game averaging just 64 yards per game on the ground and this lackluster unit managed to gash the Browns defense. Very few tea...

Greedy Williams not expected to play

The Cleveland Browns cornerback is not expected to play. There was some hope that Greedy Williams would make his return to Cleveland's secondary after returning to practice earlier this week but it was not meant to be. The Browns cornerback is not expected to play in Week 5 when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers. https://twitter.com/StainbrookNFL/status/1578768972434268162?s=20&t=uc9aTTiCnDdqt3kSWLT2IQ Without Greedy Williams it will make slowing down Los Angeles' high powered passing game that much more difficult. Even if Williams were to play it would not be an easy task shutting down Justin Herbert. It will be up to the rest of Cleveland's secondary to pull together and play at a high level. Getting on the same page and avoiding coverage lapses will be key if they a...
