Shane Bieber to start for Cleveland Wednesday

Shane Bieber will start for the Cleveland Baseball Club Wednesday as they are looking for their third straight win over the Chicago White Sox.

The last time Shane Bieber pitched for the Cleveland Baseall Club against the Chicago White Sox he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings while striking out 9. Bieber would like to repeat or even improve upon that performance Wednesday as he takes the mound for Cleveland.

There are three White Sox batters with more than 10 at-bats with success against Shane Bieber. Jose Abreu is 7-18 with 3 home runs, Tim Anderson is 6-17 with 2 doubles, and Yoan Moncada is 6-17 with 2 home runs and 1 double. There a few others who have had their way against Bieber, just in fewer at-bats. Yasmani Grandal is 1-3 with 1 double, Eloy Jimenez is 2-5 with 1 double, James McCann is 3-7 with 2 home runs and 1 double.

It’s not all bad for Shane Bieber when facing the White Sox. Jarrod Dyson, Edwin Encarnacion, Adam Engel, Nomar Mazara, and Luis Robert are a combined 0-15 with 6 strikeouts. Yolmer Sanchez is 3-14, one of his hits being a double. The MLB strikeout leader would like to see more performances of the latter variety when facing the players in the previous list.

It will be a matchup of aces as the White Sox are starting Lucas Giolito. Giolito has two starts against Cleveland this season, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits in 13 innings while striking out 11 batters. There are two batters in the Cleveland lineup with success in at least 10 at-bats, Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez. Lindor is 5-16 against Gioltio while the hero Ramirez is 5-17 with 1 double and 1 home run. Cesar Hernandez has faired well in his matchups with Giolito, going 3-6 with 2 doubles.

The game is scheduled to start at 6:10 P.M.
