Jadeveon Clowney stayed because of Watson
Jadeveon Clowney gave everyone a peek into his thought process Thursday. When asked about his recent decisions in free agency, the subject of offensive personnel was breached. Clowney stated that he is in Cleveland (still) because Deshaun Watson came to the Browns.
Have to wonder how Browns general manager Andrew Berry feels about this considering his relentless pursuit of Clowney in recent years. To find out after spending one year in town that Clowney’s next destination would be dependent on where Watson is intriguing. There was a very real chance that Watson and subsequently end up elsewhere with Cleveland taking other avenues to address the quarterback position.
Clowney and Watson played together in Houston from 2017-2019 until the former sought greener pastures.
