Guardians recall Castro, option Pilkington

Prior to the series finale in Colorado, the Cleveland Guardians have recalled Anthony Castro while optioning Konnor Pilkington.

This move from the Guardians looks to be one of preparation for their next series. Pilkington has been a rotation arm and would not start until after their series with the Dodgers. Castro’s spot in the bullpen would be more useful to Cleveland this weekend than an idle rotation arm.

Pilkington has appeared in eight games this season with a 3.47 ERA, 3.33 FIP, 1.556 WHIP, and 9.3 K/9.

Castro has six appearances (6.1 innings) with an ERA of 4.05, 5.69 FIP, 1.500 WHIP, and 12.2 K/9.
