Billy Hamilton will not make Cleveland team

The Cleveland Baseball Club has informed the outfielder that he will not be making their roster.

For now there will not be a Billy Hamilton era in Cleveland. The team has informed Hamilton that he will not be making the team according to reports.

Terry Francona did add that the team will try and help him catch on with another team. That is part of the reason why Cleveland has informed him of the decision so early.

Billy Hamilton with this roster never really made a lot of sense. An outfielder that can’t hit doesn’t really solve any of their issues from last season. There is a reason why the team traded for Josh Naylor last season and signed Eddie Rosario this past offseason. At best Hamilton could have been the designated runner on second in extra-innings and that should not take priority over impactful players at other positions.
