Another team pushing for Jose Ramirez trade
Another suitor has emerged for Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez as the San Diego Padres are reportedly interested in his services. This is the second time in less than a month a team has reported to be inquiring about Ramirez with Toronto being the first.
The interest from the Padres comes at a time when the Guardians are attempting to extend Jose Ramirez. Cleveland has offered contract structures that are hardly surprising and they have not been accepted.
Cleveland is apparently “doing everything they can” to sign Ramirez to an extension.
Including 2022, Ramirez is under contract for two seasons both team friendly club options. Should the Guardians be unable to extend the best third baseman in all of baseball, his current contract would be very appealing to potential trade partners.
