Browns take Jedrick Wills Jr. in Casserly’s mock

In his first mock draft, Charlie Casserly has the Cleveland Browns drafting Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr. 10th overall.

Maybe Jedrick Wills Jr. to the Browns at 10 is gaining some momentum? Tom Fornelli mocked this yesterday and now Charlie Casserly is doing the exact same thing. This is Casserly’s first mock for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Casserly identifies the fact that offensive tackle is a need for the Browns in his commentary on the pick.

Along with safety, offensive tackle is one of the Browns major needs. They need to find out if Wills can play on the blind side or whether Georgia’s Andrew Thomas could be a better fit.

The interesting thing is that Casserly mentions another highly regarded tackle prospect, Georgia’s Andrew Thomas. The junior out of Georgia could be under consideration for Cleveland if they find something they do not necessarily like with Wills. Thomas goes to the Jets just one pick later in this mock draft.

Charlie Casserly has one tackle going ahead of Wills and that is Mekhi Becton to the Giants fourth overall. Other tackles in the first round include Tristan Wirfs to the Buccaneeres at 14 and Austin Jackson to the Vikings at 25.

Cleveland needs an offensive tackle and everybody knows it. The mock drafts that have Cleveland selecting another position are few, but they exist. While there is some merit to their reasoning, they cannot afford to go with a patchwork offensive line yet again.
