Zach Plesac starts for Cleveland vs Tigers Friday

The Cleveland Baseball Club will send Zach Plesac to the mound as they look to win their second consecutive game over Detroit.

Zach Plesac could use a bounce back game and there is the perfect opportunity for that Friday night as the Cleveland Baseball Club faces the Detroit Tigers. In Plesac’s last start he allowed 5 runs on 6 hits including 3 home runs in 6 innings against the Twins, hardly the performance that is up to the standards required for this team to win games.

Zach Plesac has only faced a handful of Tigers batters in the past which doesn’t provide any real insight to how he will pitch Friday. Miguel Cabrera and Niko Goodrum are both 1-3 and Austin Romine is 1-2. Jeimer Candelario is 0-1 and Victor Reyes reached on a walk in his only plate appearance. Zach Plesac is talented enough that he can pitch well and put the team in position to win.

Detroit is starting Michael Fulmer and there could not be a better sight for a struggling Cleveland offense. Lots of positive history between Cleveland batters and Fulmer. Francisco Lindor is 9-22 with 3 home runs and 3 doubles. Tyler Naquin is an impressive 7-11 with 1 double. Jose Ramirez is 4-16 with 2 home runs and 1 double. Franmil Reyes is 2-3, both hits being home runs. Carlos Santana is 5-15 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. Delino DeShields is 2-5 with 2 RBI. Austin Hedges is 1-2, his lone hit being a double.

Zach Plesac will have the chance to make it two straight wins for Cleveland after defeating Detroit Thursday. The game is scheduled to start at 7:10 P.M.
