Longtime fan favorite Anderson Varjeao will be the Cleveland Cavaliers representative at the NBA Draft Lottery.

The Cavs have just a 0.5% chance of landing the first overall pick and 2.4% chance of shooting up into the top four. Staying at the 14th pick is the most likely scenario as they have a 97.6% chance of staying put.

The draft lottery will take place Tuesday at 8:00 P.M.

Cavaliers throttled by Trail Blazers

The Cleveland Cavaliers were absolutely demolished from the by the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 141-105.

After the 1st quarter things seemed to be going fine for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs were only down 1 point against the significantly better Portland Trail Blazers and the game might have been competitive. Unfortunately the 1st quarter was the outlier as Portland outscored Cleveland 112-77 over the next three quarters. The Trail Blazers scored 35 or more points in quarters 2-4 while Cleveland did not break 30 once in the contest. Cleveland was simply not able to keep up for the majority of the game and it shows in the final score.

Kevin Love was the leading scorer for the Cavaliers, finishing with 18 points on 7-14 from the floor including 4-10 from three. Love also holds the dubious honor of having the lowest +/- for the game with a -45.

Collin Sexton displayed his usual inefficient shooting as he went 6-15, missing all three attempts from deep. Sexton’s plus/minus was also not great sitting at -22 on the night.

There was the return of one former Cavaliers fan favorite, Anderson Varejao. Varejao played 7 minutes off the bench, finishing with 6 rebounds, 1 block and 1 point.

It is now run out the clock time for the Cavaliers. Field whatever surrender lineup they can conjure up and avoid serious injuries for key players. That’s really all that Cleveland can do at this point, position themselves for a high lottery pick.
