The Cleveland Browns made five roster moves on Monday as they continue to trim the roster and place players on injured reserve.

The Cleveland Browns made the necessary roster moves Monday in order to get down to the required 80. Cody Parkey, Connor Davis, and Montrel Meander have been placed on injured reserve. Additionally, the team waived Alex Taylor and Alexander Hollins.

The only real move of consequence here is the placement of Parkey on IR. Parkey was one of two options vying for the kicking job, the other being Chase McLaughlin. By default the job now belongs to McLaughlin, but that could change either prior or during the season.

Browns sign receiver Alexander Hollins

The wide receiver has been signed from the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.

The Cleveland Browns had signed Alexander Hollins to their active roster. The wide receiver had been on the practice squad of the Minnesota Vikings prior to the signing.

While nothing is known at this time about the status of the four receivers who missed Sunday’s game, this appears to be an insurance policy of sorts. If the Browns find themselves short handed against the Steelers in Week 17, they have another receiver to turn to.

Alexander Hollins appeared in 5 games for the Vikings last season, finishing with 2 receptions for 46 yards on 4 targets.
