Scrappers no longer a Cleveland affiliate
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are no longer an affiliate of the Cleveland Baseball Club. A new league will be formed which includes the Scrappers and five other clubs.
The MLB Draft league includes the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Williamsport Crosscutters, State College Spikes, West Virginia Black Bears, Trenton Thunder, and one more team that is yet to be named.
There was an expectation that some form of reorganization regarding Minor League Baseball was in the works. It was reported earlier this year that plans were being discussed in regards to making changes with the minor league system.
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers were an affiliate of the Cleveland Baseball Club since their first season in 1999 until this announcement was made.
