Jordan Luplow walks it off for Cleveland in 5-3 win

The Cleveland Baseball Club outfielder launched a two-run home run in the 10th inning for a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins.

To quote Billy Zane in Zoolander, “It’s a walk-off”. Jordan Luplow stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 10th and promptly send the third pitch from Alex Colome into the left field bleachers.

It was the only hit of the game for Jordan Luplow, but he made sure to make it count. This was high-drama moment and it unfolded in epic fashion. These are the types of hits that Cleveland has seemed to be missing early in the year, but it appears that Jordan Luplow is ready to deliver when called upon.

The home run from Jordan Luplow was not the only clutch home run of the game. Down by one in the bottom of the 8th it was Jose Ramirez who stepped into the box and everyone knows exactly how this played out. It was a home run pitch that Ramirez clobbered to tie the game at 3.

As far as pitching goes, Zach Plesac was the starter and bounced back nicely despite giving up three runs. It was the deepest that Plesac has gone into a game this season (7.2 innings), allowing 5 hits and walking 1 while striking out 4. Considering Plesac gave up 12 runs in his past two starts, this is a much needed step in the right direction.

Cleveland is now one game under .500 on the year (10-11) and just two games back of the White Sox for second place in the division. There’s a chance to get level on the year with a win on Tuesday.
