Davion Davis

Davion Davis suspended two games by NFL

The Cleveland Browns wide receiver has been suspended by the National Football League for a charge in October of 2019.

Davion Davis will not be on the Cleveland Browns roster for the first two weeks of the 2021 NFL season. This is due to receiving a two-game suspension from the NFL for a DUI charge in October of 2019. A combination of courts being closed and an appeal of the punishment from the league led to the suspension happening now.

This could actually be a blessing in disguise for Davion Davis. Davis is one of several wide receivers on the bubble as far as making the roster. While he is suspended for the first two weeks he will not count against the Browns 53-man roster, allowing the team to keep him in the organization instead of possibly cutting him to trim the roster down. This will give Cleveland an opportunity to evaluate his spot on the roster in addition to other bubble receivers, (KhaDarel Hodge, Rashard Higgins, Ja’Marcus Bradley, JoJo Natson), without having to make a move just yet. It also provides the Browns with a bit of an insurance if one of these players gets injured while he is away from the team as he can just step into their spot on the roster.
