Cavs sign Mamadi Diakite to two-way deal
The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed the 25-year old forward to a two-way deal.
Mamadi Diakite will remain in the Cleveland Cavaliers organization. Diakite is signing a two-way deal with the Cavs after being waived earlier this week. The 25-year old cleared waivers and was able to remain in Cleveland.
The former Virginia Cavalier has not played a lot in his career up to this point, with just 27 games and two starts across two seasons with Milwaukee and Oklahoma City. During that time Mamadi Diakite averaged 3.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game. Barring unforeseen circumstances there will not be a lot of playing time for Diakite in Cleveland.
Diakite appeared in four preseason games with the Cavs, averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 16.8 minutes per contest.
