Browns won’t tender Tavierre Thomas

The Cleveland Browns do not plan to tender the cornerback a contract.

There is one thing that everyone knew was going to happen this offseason for the Cleveland Browns. There are going to be some changes on defense. One of those changes appears to be considering other options besides Tavierre Thomas at cornerback. The team will reportedly not tender the 24-year old corner a contract.

Tavierrre Thomas has appeared in 45 of 48 games over the past three seasons including three starts. 2020 was the most productive year for Thomas as he saw the most action up to this point in his career (19% of defensive snaps). Thomas finished last season with 30 total tackles (29 solo), 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.

It is possible that the Browns and Thomas agree to deal down the road, but Cleveland will be looking at other options to improve their secondary.
