Browns place two on injured reserve

The Cleveland Browns have placed two players on injured reserve ahead of Thursday Night’s game against Pittsburgh.

Jesse James and Chase Winovich were already ruled out by the Cleveland Browns for their game against the Steelers and now they will be out just a bit longer. The team has placed both James and Winovich on injured reserve due to their injuries.

James is the third tight end on the roster behind David Njoku and Harrison Bryant, mostly playing on special teams. Winovich is also a rotational player, but with Cleveland also being without the services of Jadeveon Clowney it will challenge the depth of the Browns defensive front. The short week combined with a lack of depth will makes thing difficult for currently unpopular defensive coordinator Joe Woods. Creativity will be required in order to manufacture pressure from anyone not named Myles Garrett. If not the Browns could be staring 1-2 right in the face and accept the reality of a lost season.
