Browns picks in Matt Miller’s mock draft

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller released his latest mock draft and the Cleveland Browns are addressing some clear areas of need.

10. OT Tristan Wirfs – Iowa

Depending on how you ask Tristan Wirfs might be available at 10, he might not. Offensive tackle at 10 continues to be a popular pick for the Browns considering how certain players are rising after the NFL Combine. This has essentially become a throwing darts at a dartboard exercise for offensive lineman and the 10th overall pick.

41. LB Jordyn Brooks – Texas Tech

Jordyn Brooks makes a ton of sense here. Brooks finished up his final season at Texas Tech with 108 total tackles (including 20 for loss) and could be an impact player from day one if Cleveland selects him.

The fact of the matter is the Browns need a linebacker in the worst way. Cleveland just said thanks, but no thanks to Joe Schobert and let him walk out the door. There are options on the roster currently in Mack Wilson and Sione Takitaki, but they are not all that inspiring at this moment in time. Christian Kirskey is still under contract (for now), but his availability has been questionable the past two seasons. Adding another option into the mix makes the most sense here.

74. EDGE Terrell Lewis – Alabama

Speaking of uncertain futures, Olivier Vernon. It almost seems inevitable that the Browns will move on from the talented edge rusher and they will need a replacement. That is where Terrell Lewis comes in. Lewis finished his junior season with the Crimson Tide with 11.5 tackles for loss including 6 sacks. Lewis could step into Vernon’s spot opposite of Myles Garrett if the team decides to move into a different direction.

90. S K’Von Wallace – Clemson

Let’s keep this short and sweet. Cleveland needs impact players at the safety position. Both of them. K’Von Wallace has the potential to be exactly that for the Browns if the select him 90th overall.
