23-year old center Ante Zizic has decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and sign with Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Premier League.
Ante Zizic is signing a deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Zizic is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers after spending three seasons with the team. Ante Zizic is the second former Cav to sign in Israel, Jaron Blossomgame signed with Ironi Nahariya earlier this month.
Zizic did not have a lot of starting opportunities while in Cleveland. This was due to the fact that the Cavs had plenty of big men available and they were also better. Zizic is more of a traditional center that doesn’t not offer all that much when it comes to the modern game. The options that the Cavs used instead of Zizic were either three-point threats or more athletic than Zizic.
Zizic came to Cleveland with Jae Crowder, Isaiah Thomas, the draft pick which became Collin Sexton in the deal that sent Kyrie Irving to Boston. Sexton is now the only part of that trade that remains with the Cavs.
