The Guardians pitching staff took a hit as Aaron Civale has been placed on the injured list. Civale has a glute injury which led to his landing on the IL. The team has recalled Konnor Pilkington in a corresponding move.
Aaron Civale has struggled mightily this season with an ERA of 7.84 and WHIP of 1.516. Civale is coming off his best performance of the year, allowing just three hits and walking one across 6.1 innings in a win versus Detroit. Before that outing it was a rough go as he allowed 22 runs in 17.1 innings.
Konnor Pilkington has appeared in four games for the Guardians allowing just two runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts in 8.2 innings.
