Cleveland Baseball Club manager Terry Franconca is unlikely to manage the team while in Cincinnati.
The Cleveland Baseball Club is unlikely to be without manager Terry Francona during their series with the Cincinnati Reds. Francona did not manage the team Sunday in their 3-1 loss to the Twins. Team President Chris Antoinette stated that Francona is suffering from some gastrointestinal issues at the moment.
Antonetti also noted that these are the same issues from Spring Training earlier this year.
It is important to note that theses issues are not expected to be COVID-19 related.
Sandy Alomar Jr. will manage the team during Francona’s absence. Alomar managed the final six games of the 2012 season finishing with a 3-3- record following the departure of Manny Acta.
