Terry Francona in favor of changing team name

Cleveland baseball manager Terry Francona is in favor of the team changing the name and said “It’s time to move forward”.

The name of the Cleveland’s baseball team will be a topic of intense debate until a new name is chosen. Cleveland’s manager Terry Francona stated Sunday that he is in favor of a name change.

This is an important step in regards to renaming and rebranding the team. The fact that Terry Francona is supporting the idea of a new name should end any discussions about not changing the name.

Many names will be discussed as time moves on. From Guardians, Tribe, Spiders, and even a brief discussion about not changing anything at all. With the manager of team backing the idea of a name, the idea of standing pat with a name that is offensive seems to have no chance of happening.
