Browns terminate contracts of three more players

In addition to Adarius Taylor, the Cleveland Browns have terminated the contracts of T.J. Carrie, Demetrius Harris, and Eric Kush.

More roster moves from the Cleveland Browns. Andrew Berry and Co. are hard at work art identifying just who they want and who is expendable. Cleveland will be releasing T.J. Carrie, Demetrius Harris, and Eric Kush.

The news of the team moving on from Adarius Taylor leaked earlier in the day. Cleveland saved quite a bit money of with these moves today.

The base salary for cornerback T.J. Carrie would have had him making $14 million over the next two seasons. Money was clearly a motivator here. Carrie appeared in 32 games for the Browns over seasons, intercepting two passes, forcing three fumbles, and recording two sacks.

Eric Kush being released was not necessarily tied to money. Kush’s base salary would have been $1.8 million in 2020. Any future with the team essentially went out the window when the Browns acquired Wyatt Teller from Buffalo prior to the season. Kush appeared in all 16 games for Cleveland this season, starting seven of them.

Demetrius Harris did not do a whole heck of a lot during his one year in Cleveland. Harris caught 15 passes for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns in 15 games. It is worth nothing that Harris is not a receiving threat by any means, these numbers are in the ballpark of his previous three seasons. Add in the fact that he was due to make quite a bit of money for relatively uninspiring numbers and he was as good as gone once Andrew Berry took over.
