The Cleveland Cavaliers and the 25-year old forward have agreed to a contract extension.
Dean Wade is extending his stay in Cleveland. The Cavaliers have agreed to terms on a three-year extension with Wade worth $18.5 million. Wade’s extension will begin after the expiration of his current contract at the end of this upcoming season.
In 51 games last season Dean Wade averaged 5.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game. Wade averaged 45.6% from the field and 35.9% from deep while starting a career-high 28 games. More starts could be in store for Wade as the Cavs work to fill out their starting lineup alongside Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. It will come down to either Wade or Isaac Okoro for the final starting spot. Wade may have the higher upside offensively, but perhaps having his skillset come off the bench would be a better fit to help stagger the shooting and make their bench depth a bit deeper.
