Browns have “backed off” Ndamukong Suh

Earlier this offseason the Cleveland Browns were linked to free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, but it appears they backed off in their pursuit.

Tampa and Las Vegas are the two teams still in the mix for the talented veteran. That being said Tampa did just sign Akiem Hicks to a one-year deal. It appears that the Bucs had their choices between Hicks and Ndamukong Suh, opting for the former Chicago Bear.

The unfortunate aspect for Cleveland in this is that their defensive line still needs some work. Adding Ndamukong Suh to their mix of defensive line options would have been a massive improvement for the Browns defensive front. Suh joining Myles Garrett and the recently re-signed Jadeveon Clowney would have been a problem for their opponents.

Perhaps that a potential landing spot no longer appears available it could rev up Cleveland’s interest. The Browns have found themselves in situations where it appeared they were not in the driver’s seat with things working out their way in the end. Maybe, just maybe this is another one of those situations.
