Melky Cabrera has been a welcome addition to the Cleveland Indians lineup. The veteran outfielder has been extremely productive after the All-Star break. A series of injuries led to the Indians signing Cabrera in the first place and has paid dividends as of late.

Melky Cabrera’s production should not stop the Indians from acquiring another outfielder
Melky Cabrera and Greg Allen have both played well lately. Allen’s surge was detailed in a previous article. While both have performed there is almost a waiting for the bottom to fall out feeling regarding both of them. If that does happen the Indians need a backup plan. Exploring the trade market before the August 31st deadline would be optimal. There is no such thing as having enough outfielders. Acquiring another outfielder in case of a drop in production or injury is the best plan moving forward. If an acquisition of another outfielder puts a charge in Cabrera and Allen to keep playing well that is just a bonus. As long as Cleveland gets consistent performances from their outfield it will be hard to argue against the Indians making a postseason run.Discover more from This Is Believeland
