The Cleveland Baseball Club snapped their eight-game losing streak with a dominant 10-3 win over the Detroit Tigers Thursday.
Finally, the Cleveland Baseball Club won a game. After losing eight straight games Cleveland jumped on the Tigers early and ran away with an easy win.
Cleveland got a boost as Jose Ramirez is showing some signs of heating up before the season ends Ramirez homered twice in the first 4 innings, Ramirez would finish the game 4-5 with 3 runs and 4 runs driven in, easily the best performance at the plate Thursday night.
Cleveland got some contributions from more than one batter, something that has not happened all that often this season. Cesar Hernandez went 3-5 and scored 3 times. Carlos Santana was 2-3 with 2 walks and Franmil Reyes was 1-4 with 2 RBI, both coming in the 7th inning. Josh Naylor and Tyler Naquin were both 1-5 with a run scored, Naquin did have an RBI on a groundout also in the 7th.
Shane Bieber started for Cleveland and was his usual dominant self. Bieber allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 10. The 3 runs surrendered by Bieber all came on a three-run homer off the bat of Willi Castro.
