Francisco Lindor to appear Tribe Fest

The Cleveland Indians have announced that All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor is scheduled to appear at Tribe Fest on Febraury 1, 2020.

Maybe this is something. Maybe it is nothing. Either way, Francisco Lindor will be Tribe Fest on February 1st. The Cleveland Indians made the announcement today via their twitter account.

Now, there is a lot of time between now and then. There have been plenty of trade discussions about the All-Star shortstop and anything can happen. The fact that the team announced that Francisco Lindor will be there seems like a good sign.

It is possible that this is a signal that trade talks about Lindor are no longer happening. It is also entirely possible that this is not related to trade discussions whatsoever. Given the public relations nightmare that the Indians find themselves to be perpetually in, it seems possible that they would be careful about not making a misstep like this. Announcing that Lindor would appear then turning around and trading him would be something they could not come back from.

Whether Cleveland trades him during or after the season is a different story. Trade talks can resume at any time and if they receive the right offer it is not out of the realm of possibilities that he is dealt.
