Cleveland begins four game series with White Sox

The Cleveland Baseball Club will face the divison leading Chicago White Sox in a four game series at home starting Monday at 6:10 P.M.

This is the definition of big series. The Cleveland Baseball Club will take on the Chicago White Sox in an important four game series at home and Cleveland needs to at least split the series. Cleveland will be starting Aaron Civale in the first of four games against the division leading White Sox.

Aaron Civale has a mixed track record when it comes to facing the White Sox. There are some batters that Civale has been the victor and others where the batter has come out on top.

Cases of Aaron Civale being the winner
  • Jose Abreu: 1-10
  • Adam Engel: 0-7 1 strikeout
  • Yasmani Grandal: 0-3 3 strikeouts
  • Nomar Mazara: 0-1 1 strikeout
  • Eloy Jimenez: 1-6 2 strikeouts
Examples of the batter coming out on top of the Cleveland right hander
  • Tim Anderson: 3-8 2 doubles, 1 home run
  • James McCann: 2-4 1 home run
  • Yoan Moncada: 5-9 1 double

It is going to come down to whether or not Aaron Civale is able to turn things around when facing Tim Anderson, James McCann, and Yoan Moncada while still silencing the other bats in the lineup.

The White Sox will be starting rookie Dane Dunning. The 25-year old pitcher has been remarkable in his first five MLB starts. Dunning has a 2.67 ERA, 0.926 WHIP, and a 9.3 K/9. Dunning limited the Twins offense in his previous start which saw him go 7 innings and only allow 2 runs on 3 hits with 7 strikeouts. Cleveland will have their hands full when stepping into the box against Dunning and it could be a long night.
