The Cleveland Baseball Club starting pitcher is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday in Double-A.
The depleted pitching rotation of the Cleveland Baseball Club could be getting some reinforcements soon. Zach Plesac is set to begin his rehab assignment with the Akron RubberDucks, Cleveland’s Double-A affiliate.
Zach Plesac last pitched on May 23rd and Cleveland has had to piece together their rotation since. Further injuries to Aaron Civale and Shane Bieber only made their lack of pitching depth a bigger issue.
The 2021 season has not gone well for Zach Plesac as he has largely struggled. Plesac has a 4.14 ERA, 1.023 WHIP, and a 5.8 K/9. While a small sample size, Plesac’s ERA and K/9 numbers are the worst of his career up to the point, although that could change upon his return.
