The Cleveland Baseball Club sent pitcher Zach Plesac home after he left the team hotel in Chicago to go out with friends.
Zach Plesac was sent back to Cleveland Sunday after leaving the team hotel in Chicago Saturday night. Plesac was given a long time to think about what he did as he had return to Cleveland in a rental car rather than the flight the rest of the team will be taking following Sunday’s game.
Plesac will be quarantined for 72 hours and will undergo daily testing.
It is apparent that Cleveland is taking the safety protocols seriously. The team is trying to avoid what happened in Miami and St. Louis. Miami missed 10 games due to positive tests and St. Louis continues to have their games canceled. In fact, the Cardinals have only played five games this season. If MLB is going to finish this season it needs teams to take the proper precautions and ensure everyone is doing everything in their power to remain safe. Sending Zach Plesac home after his violation is the right decision.
