The Cleveland Baseball Club will call upon the young pitcher to start their third game against the Chicago White Sox.
Game 2 of the series provided a better result for the Cleveland Baseball Club than Game 1. Shane Bieber was able to dominate the White Sox in a 2-0 win at Guaranteed Rate Field. In search of their second straight win, Cleveland will hand the ball over to Zach Plesac Wednesday.
Zach Plesac has been impressive in his first two starts of the season. Compiling a 1.38 ERA, 0.846 WHIP, and a low 6.9 K/9. Plesac will be looking to build upon his last start where he allowed 3 hits in 7 innings against Detroit. Some key bats for the White Sox do not have a good track record against Zach Plesac. Jose Abreu is 2-11 with 3 strikeouts, Yoan Moncada is 3-12 with 4 strikeouts, Luis Robert is 1-6 with 3 strikeouts, and Yasmani Grandal is 1-9 with 5 strikeouts. Plesac has shown the ability to strike out the better bats in the White Sox lineup and will to continue that in this start.
Chicago’s starter is Carlos Rodon. Rodon was originally the starter for Game 1 of this series and was a late scratch due to not feeling well. Dallas Keuchel relieved Rodon of his duties and pitched well enough to hand Cleveland a loss. As it was the other day, the key is Jose Ramirez. Ramirez is Cleveland’s best hitter against Rodon and will hopefully continue that good history.
