Could the Cavs move Collin Sexton?

The Cavs landed the third overall pick pick in the 2021 NBA Draft leading to the possibility that the team trades Collin Sexton. With the NBA Draft Lottery going the Cavs way Tuesday, a ton of options are now available for Cleveland. Not just options in the draft, but possible alterations to the current roster. Brian Windhorst of ESPN was on ESPN Cleveland Wednesday and stated that the team could end up trading current players on the team. Windhorst specially mentioned Collin Sexton as someone who could be on the move along with Darius Garland. https://twitter.com/BenAxelrod/status/1407694969373138955?s=20 Of course this scenario is part of the hypothetical drafting of Jalen Suggs by the Cavs. Windhorst also agreed with Ben Axelrod's opinion of "pumping the brakes" on the poss...

Cavaliers to pick third in 2021 NBA Draft

The Cleveland Cavaliers will have a top three pick for the first time since 2014. The 2021 NBA Draft Lottery was conducted Monday evening and the Cleveland Cavaliers ended up with the third overall pick. This will be the first time since the Cavs selected Andrew Wiggins first overall in 2014 that Cleveland has a pick higher than five. https://twitter.com/BallySportsCLE/status/1407504324306128896?s=20 The Cavaliers had an 11.2% chance to end up with the third overall pick. Cleveland was most likely to land the seventh overall pick (25.5%), with sixth having the second-best chances (18.2%). Third was actually fifth of nine possible picks that the Cavs could have ended up with. The final draft lottery results appear below. https://twitter.com/TheHoop...

Should the Cavs make a play for Ben Simmons?

With the inescapable feeling that the Philadelphia 76ers will trade the former number one overall pick, should the Cleveland Cavaliers be in on the trade talks? The Philadelphia 76ers season has come to a close and the team has their scapegoat, Ben Simmons. It is not just the fact that Simmons passed up that one shot right under the basket, it is many things. Simmons only attempting three shots in the 4th quarter in a seven game series is an issue as well as overall fit with Joel Embiid. Due to these circumstances it appears that the 76ers are going to have to make a change in order to get over the hump, most believe it will be trading Simmons to shake up their roster a bit. This brings forth an interesting question. Should the Cleveland Cavaliers make a play for Ben Simmons? On ...

Isaac Okoro named NBA All-Rookie second team

The Cleveland Cavaliers rookie has been named to the 2020-2021 All-Rookie second team. There were not a lot of high points in the 2020-21 season for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the play of Isaac Okoro was one. Okoro played well enough to earn NBA All-Rookie second team honors. https://twitter.com/ChrisFedor/status/1405677522650550280?s=20 Isaac Okoro started all 67 games he appeared in and averaged 9.6 points on 42% shooting from the field in addition to 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Okoro was much better inside the three-point line as he shot 29% from deep and 50.1% from two. Offense was not the primary reason why Okoro was the Cavs pick at five, it was defense. Okoro came in as a good defender while his offense was a work in progress. Over the course of the seaso...

Cavs should pursue CJ McCollum

The Cleveland Cavaliers should look to shake up their roster and pursue the Portland Trail Blazers guard via trade. It's another season in the second post-LeBron era and they are not anywhere closer to being relevant. The team has made moves in attempt to build something new and different, a team not necessarily reliant on one player, but a core of players. While their attempts have resulted in productive NBA players on the team, it simply has not made a dent in the returning to the contention arena. Like other teams who have had their season end already, Cleveland needs to evaluate their roster and determine who they should build around and who they can let go. There is no doubt that the Cavs need to shake things up on their roster and that brings us to the rumor that popped up over t...

Koby Altman to meet with media Friday

The Cleveland Cavaliers general manager will meet with the media on Friday. After relative and strange silence following the season, Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman will finally speak to the media on Friday. https://twitter.com/twithersAP/status/1397919685295841287?s=20 It will be the usual end of season media availability from Koby Altman. The Cavs have taken some flak for the silence and unknown status of when this would take place leading to some speculation about the status of certain members of the organization. Definitive answers on certain subjects should come during this media availability Friday.

Popcorn throwing fan deserves to be banned

A fan threw popcorn at Russell Westbrook and they should no longer be allowed to attend sporting events in person ever again. Homer Simpson once said while attending a Springfield Isotopes game that “This ticket gives me the right, no the duty to make a complete ass of myself”. Contrary to the wisdom of Homer Simpson, the real world doesn’t work like that. This brings us to Wednesday’s playoff game between the Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers. Russell Westbrook was leaving the floor after suffering an injury and a fan decided to embrace his inner Homer Simpson by dumping popcorn on the Wizards star. https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/1397725002221293568?s=20 This is completely unacceptable and a total scumbag move. This fan should never be allowed to attend a sp...

Potential Cavaliers uniform leak is mixed bag

A possible leak of a new uniform from the Cleveland Cavaliers surfaced and overall it is a mix bag of good and bad. The NBA never stops producing new uniforms and there was a batch of uniforms that leaked on Tuesday. Included in the leak was a uniform for the Cleveland Cavaliers. https://twitter.com/John_Sabol/status/1397211940460576769?s=20 The Cavaliers uniform uses the throwback logo and font and uses the stripes as well. Positives include the color combination and not using too many colors, the only time a third appears (white) is on the sleeves and collar. The current Cavs uniforms are a victim of too many colors being used and this is a bit of a step back (a good thing) from a design standpoint. As far as negatives go it is centered on one thing, the design of th...
