Carlos Carrasco starts for Cleveland vs. Cubs

Carlos Carrasco will start for the Cleveland Baseball Club on Tuesday as they take on the Chicago Cubs looking to snap their losing streak. After a day off, the Cleveland Baseball Club will travel to Chicago to face the Cubs. Cleveland will be sending Carlos Carrasco to the mound as they look to snap their six-game losing streak. Carlos Carrasco has pitched well against most Cubs batters in the past. David Bote, Kris Bryant, Wilson Contreras, Ian Happ, Jason Heyward, Jason Kipnis, and Cameron Maybin are a combined 1-21, the lone hit belonging to Maybin. Javier Baez and Victor Caratini are both 1-2 off of Carrasco while Anthony Rizzo is 2-2, one of those hits being a solo homer. Bily Hamilton is 3-10 with a triple and two runs batted in, Hamilton having a good slash line (.300/.417/....

Aaron Civale starts for Cleveland vs. Royals

The Cleveland Basseball Club will send Aaron Civale to the mound as they look to split the series with the Kansas City Royals. The Cleveland Baseball Club is looking to bounce back from their second straight loss to the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Aaron Civale will be making his first ever start against Kansas City. Aaron Civale is looking to build upon his last start in which he only allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 6 batters in a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Civale has a 3.63 ERA, 1.135 WHIP, and 8.5 K/09 in 52 innings this season. The Cleveland right hander will have to do his best to keep the Royals off the base paths. The starter for Kansas City will be Brady Singer. Singer is making his second start against Cleveland, his first coming back on July 25th. S...

12 hits not enough for Cleveland in 3-2 loss

The Cleveland Baseball Club managed to get 12 hits off the Minnesota Twins, but were unable to convert them into enough runs in a 3-2 loss. One would think that 12 hits would result in more than 2 runs and a win. Well that was not the case Monday as the Cleveland Baseball Club lost to the Minnesota Twins 3-2. Cesar Hernandez hit a leadoff home run for the second consecutive game, this is the first time it has happened in Cleveland Baseball Club history. Hernandez would end up 2-5 in the contest. Carlos Santana had a team-high 3 hits including an RBI single that brought the team within one run in the 7th inning. Francisco Lindor finishing with two hits was a welcome sight considering his struggles at the plate the season. Lindor coming to life at the plate could make a posit...

Cleveland drops final game of series to Tigers 7-4

The Cleveland Baseball Club dropped the final game of their three game series with the Detroit Tigers by a score of 7-4. It was another short start for Cleveland starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco as he struggled yet again in Sunday's 7-4 loss. Carrasco allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk in just 3.1 innings. Two home runs in the 4th inning chased Carrasco from the game as Detroit took a 4-1 lead. Things did not get much better as Detroit would score three more times off of Logan Allen. Allen would allow 3 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks in 4.2 innings. Surprisingly the only Cleveland pitcher to not give up a run was Dominic Leone. Leone gave up runs to Detroit in his previous two appearances. While the score looked close, it is not an accurate depiction of how this game went. Clevela...

Cleveland defeats White Sox 5-4 in extras

The Cleveland Baseball Club defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-4 in extras thanks to a clutch squeeze bunt from Delino DeShields. Cleveland desperately needed to pull off a win against Chicago Sunday night. Shane Bieber got the start for Cleveland and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8. Bieber allowed 2 solo home runs (Jose Abreu, James McCann). A Yasmani Grandal double in the 6th would be the last run of the game that Bieber allowed. Cleveland's offense struggled for the most part, only managing 7 hits, but the team kept up their impressive walk rate with 6 more to add to their total. Cesar Hernandez drove in Cleveland's first run with an RBI double in the 3rd inning. Jose Ramirez temporarily gave Cleveland a 2-1 lead with on a single that drove in San...

Cleveland routs Cincinnati 13-0

The Cleveland Baseball Club used a 10-run 7th inning en route to a 13-0 win over the visiting Cincinnati Reds. Somebody woke up the bats. The Cleveland Baseball Club blew out the Cincinnati Reds 13-0 in the final game of their series Thursday. It was only a 3 run game entering the bottom of the 7th and then Cleveland piled on the runs. 10 runs were scored by Cleveland which gives some hope that the offense is waking up and turning things around. Jose Ramirez was easily the player of the game. Ramirez homered from both sides of the plate, becoming the franchise leader in that category. https://twitter.com/MandyBell02/status/1291544904796180481?s=20 Ramirez also tripled in the game as he drove in 4 runs and scored 4 times. Carlos Santana did not record a hit, but he did wa...

Cleveland wins second straight game over Reds

The Cleveland Baseball Club won their second straight game over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 2-0. Cleveland got a win they desperately needed Wednesday, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 and ensuring they retain The Ohio Cup. Cleveland got another good starting pitching performance, this time from Mike Clevinger. Clevinger allowed 2 hits and struck out 4 in 5.2 innings. The only blemish was the fact that Clev issued 5 walks, this contributed to his somewhat early exit. Dominic Leone would get the final out of the 6th inning in relief of Clevinger. Oliver Perez handled the 7th and is doing everything he can to prove he is more than a one or two batter specialist. James Karinchak continued this strong start to the season. Karinchak allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 batter in h...

Cleveland struggles in third straight loss to Twins

The Cleveland Baseball Club only managed two hits in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Minneosta, their third straight loss to the Twins. There is only word to describe the offensive performance of the Cleveland Baseball Club Sunday. Pathetic. Two hits is all Cleveland managed as they got shut down on a Minnesota bullpen day. Cleveland's hits were a Cesar Hernandez double in the 4th and a Francisco Lindor RBI single in the same inning. Before and after that there were only crickets. The rest of the lineup combined to go 0-22 with 9 strikeouts, including Carlos Santana striking out looking to end the game. Cleveland is in a serious offensive funk right now and if they do not straighten things out soon they will get left behind fast. On a lighter note, Aaron CIvale pitched admirably despite get...

Cleveland powered by 2 HR’s from Ramirez in 9-2 win

The Cleveland Baseball Club defeated the visiting Kansas City Royals by a score of 9-2 in the final game of their three game series. If there is one thing that the Cleveland Baseball Club needs this season it is Jose Ramirez to look like Jose Ramirez. Good news, Jose Ramirez does indeed look like Jose Ramirez. Ramirez went 3-5 on the day which included two home runs. Ramirez' three-run home run in the 4th was Cleveland's first of the season. https://twitter.com/ThisIsCLEbsebll/status/1287459314320445440?s=20 The Cleveland third baseman also drove in four runs and scored four times. These are the types of performances that will need to be commonplace if the team is to return to the postseason. Domingo Santana got into the hit column as he went 3-3 with a walk and a run score...

Indians switch-hitting infield could be fun

The Cleveland Indians infield consists of switch-hitters at first base, second base, third base, and shortstop positions. As many know, I am a huge fan of switch-hitters. Always have been, always will be. There is just something about a hitter always having an advantage of sorts when it comes to whoever he is facing on the mound. Especially in a game when a player needs to take every advantage they can get (within the rules of the game obviously). The Cleveland Indians have four switch-hitters in their infield and it could be a very entertaining group to watch once the season begins. Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, Carlos Santana, and Cesar Hernandez are all able to hit from both sides of the plate. Each Indians infielder is better from a power perspective on one side and better in ...
