Shane Bieber placed on injured list

The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner has been placed on the injured list by the Cleveland Baseball Club.

There is even more turnover in the Cleveland Baseball Club pitching rotation as Shane Bieber has landed on the injured list with a right shoulder strain. The club has recalled Kyle Nelson in a corresponding move.

Things did not go well for Shane Bieber in his last start, a 6-2 loss to Seattle on Sunday. Bieber allowed a season-high five runs on 10 hits in 5.1 innings against the Mariners. Seattle’s batters appeared to be locked in on most pitches that Bieber threw. This could have been a result of the shoulder injury that has now been made public.

If the Cleveland Baseball Club is going to stay afloat during this tough stretch they are going to need some massive contributions from unlikely heroes. Cleveland’s pitching rotation has been an area of constant change this season and now even more change is on the way.
