Cleveland Baseball Club pitcher Shane Bieber keeps on dominating opposing lineups and has 35 strikeouts in his first three starts.
Even though the Cleveland offense is struggling right now there is still one constant, Shane Bieber being absolutely dominant. Bieber continued his impressive run and built upon his dominance of the Twins with an 8 strikeout performance in Cleveland’s win over Cincinnati Tuesday. Bieber now has 35 strikeouts on the year, this is the third-most strikeouts though three starts since 1893.
It is impressive when a pitcher is in the same sentence as Nolan Ryan and Gerrit Cole. Ryan being an all-time great and Cole being one of the best going right now is some good company to be in. Bieber being named with Ryan and Cole should provide a bit more perspective on just how good he is right now.
When the season started Bieber was not in the conversation in regards to who the best pitcher in baseball is. Names such as Jacob deGrom, Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, and Max Scherzer were the popular answers. With his fantastic start, Bieber has thrown his name into. the ring.
At this moment in time Shane Bieber isn’t just a Cy Young Award candidate, he might be the favorite to win it.
