The Cincinnati Reds reportedly have interest in trading for the recently acquired Cleveland Baseball Club shortstop.
For those who believe in where there’s smoke there’s fire this will be something to monitor. Just a few days ago there were rumors about Cleveland Baseball Club shortstop Amed Rosario being on the move again. These rumors appear to be growing as Jon Heyman reported that the Cincinnati Reds are still interested in his services.
The reported interest in Amed Rosario comes after Cincinnati was not able to bring back former Red Didi Gregorious. Gregorious signed a two-year deal to remain with the Philadelphia Phillies and ending any possibility of a return to Cincinnati.
If Cleveland were to trade Amed Rosario it would give a clearer picture in regards to the composition of their infield. Andres Gimenez could step in and play shortstop on day one while Cesar Hernandez occupies second. Of course this is assuming that Cleveland decides not to play games with Gimenez and have the former Met on the major league roster at the start of the season. With how things are progressing it appears that Rosario could be on the move sooner rather than later.
