Rashard Higgins wants to stay in Cleveland

Cleveland Browns wide receiver and pending restricted free agent Rashard Higgins apparently has a desire to stay put and not explore other opportunities.

Here’s some good news for fans of Rashard Higgins. He wants to remain a Brown. In an interaction on his twitter account Tuesday, Higgins responded to a fan. The fan initially responded to his tweet from earlier in the day.

Higgins quote tweeted the response with his apparent desire to stay in Cleveland.

The status of Rashard Higgins this season has been a topic of debate. Higgins was not incorporated as much as some would like and that may have been a contributing factor to the Browns struggles on offense this past season. Higgins emerged as a favorite target of Baker Mayfield in 2018, leading to projections of another productive season. These projections were also directly correlated with the fact that Higgins would be the third receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

Rashard Higgins had 572 yards on 39 receptions and four touchdowns in 13 games in 2018. This is what led to high hopes for Higgins in 2019.  Unfortunately an injury and curious roster decisions limited Higgins to just 4 receptions for 55 yards in 10 games in 2019.

Will Rashard Higgins remain in Cleveland? That’s an answer nobody has right now. Higgins may have respect for his Browns teammates but could have turned sour on the organization based on the events of last season. This wouldn’t be the first time this would have happened. Cleveland has seemed to fall into this same trap repeatedly, but is somehow unable to avoid it when it seems so simple. A new regime has a chance to fix things for Rashard Higgins. That is if they decide to keep him.
