Rashard Higgins back with Browns

The Browns have agreed to a one-year deal with Hollywood Higgins.

Rashard Higgins apparently decided that the grass is not greener on the other side. Higgins and the Browns agreed to terms on a one-year deal which will pay him $2.38 million guaranteed per reports.

The 26-year old wide receiver had 37 receptions for 599 yards and 4 touchdowns in 13 games last season. Throughout his five-year career Higgins has been up and down, not necessarily entrenching himself as a key member of the Browns offense. When Higgins does make plays a lot of the time it is due to the defense not being concerned with him. Opposing defenses are more worried about the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper, and Harrison Bryant than they are Higgins. Higgins is a fine depth receiver, but he is not the week-in week-out game changer that some may paint him as.

Rashard Higgins has had the chance to go elsewhere previously only with nothing to come of it. What this seems to point to is that Cleveland is more valuable to Higgins than the other way around. Other teams in the league simply do not value the receiver the way that the team does or certain factions in the fanbase. A perfect example of this is some of the outlandish contract predictions made that stated he would get multiple years at $5-6 million per season. Even in a year with free agent receivers getting outlandish deals, Higgins is still settling for one-year deal for just over $2 million. This says a lot about how Higgins is viewed outside of Cleveland.
