The Cleveland Browns have placed the second-year defensive end on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
When the Cleveland Browns take the field this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars they will be without three defensive ends. Porter Gustin is the latest name added to the reserve/COVID-19 list, joining Myles Garrett and Joe Jackson.
This is the third consecutive day that the Browns have placed a defensive player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Cleveland placed Joe Jackson on the list Tuesday, Sione Takitaki Wednesday, and now Porter Gustin.
The Browns are going to have be creative when it comes to who plays defensive end this week. As Zac Jackson mentions above, the Browns have Olivier Vernon, Adrian Clayborn, and Cameron Malveaux. Vernon is coming off AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors, Clayborn is a rotational player, and Malveaux has played eight snaps all season. Putting together a complete group of linemen this week will be a challenge for the Browns. Kevin Stefanski and Joe Woods are going to have to explore every available option when they take on the Jaguars in Jacksonville this Sunday.
