Nick Chubb ruled out vs Cardinals

The Cleveland Browns have ruled out the running back for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

When the Cleveland Browns take the field Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals they will be doing so without one of their best players, Nick Chubb. After not practicing all week the Browns running back was ruled out due to a calf injury.

Things are going to be difficult for the Browns offense without the NFL’s second leading rusher, only being Derrick Henry. While Kareem Hunt will get start in his absence, the two backs are two different styles of runners with different strengths.

Last season when the Browns were without Nick Chubb they struggled to run the ball consistently. From Week 5 thought Week 8 last season the Browns averaged just 95.5 yards per game. In games that Chubb appeared in (including his six carries for 43 yards in Week 4), Cleveland averaged 166 yards on the ground in those contests. It is also worth noting that in the two losses that came during that stretch the offense managed to score 13 points total.

Nick Chubb is a very integral part of the Cleveland offense and is what makes it go week in and week out. Without Chubb it could be a difficult day for the Browns to move the ball consistently.
