Great news for fans of Nathan Gerbe, he has signed a contract extension that will keep him in the Columbus Blue Jackets organization for the next two-years.
As Aaron Portzline notes, Gerbe came up to Columbus and helped them navigate through a tough time. The Blue Jackets needed help in the worst way and turned to several players from Cleveland in a time of need.

While these are not necessarily the most eye-popping numbers, his presence has helped keep things calm when they may not have been for other call-ups on the team. Providing guidance to players who may have needed it while up from Cleveland.
Gerbe appeared in 30 games for the Monsters this season before getting the call from Columbus. The 32-year old forward had 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists) during his time in Cleveland. This was his second-highest total with the Monsters. Gerbe previously had 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) in 41 games with Cleveland last season.
