Monsters travel to Rochester to face Americans

The Cleveland Monsters travel to Rochester to take on the Americans in their second meeting of six meetings this AHL season.

Last time the Cleveland Monsters faced the Rochester Americans things did not go well. Rochester handed Cleveland a 7-3 loss at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in the season opener. This time around the Monsters will be looking for a better result.

The Americans come in 2-2 in their last four games, including a 3-2 shootout loss to the Utica Comets. Meanwhile the Monsters are fresh off taking two of three from the visiting Texas Stars, the last being a comfortable 5-2 win.

Cleveland and Rochester’s point differential on the season is only 1, the Americans have 14 and the Monsters have 13. Rochester has played one less game than Cleveland this season so that number could grow depending on the result of Wendesday’s contest. Both Rochester and Cleveland have small positive goal differentials this seasons. With the Americans scoring 38 and giving up 36 and the Monsters 40 and 37 respectively.

Jean-Sebastian Dea is the Americans points leader on the season with 12 in 9 games, 8 of those points coming on assists (8) as he is Rochester’s leader in that category. Steven Fogarty is the goal scoring leader with 5 in 10 games. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonnen is the primary goaltender for Rochester, appearing in 8 games this season. Luukkonnen has a save percentage of 0.904, allowing 26 goals this season.

Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05 P.M.
