Monsters sign Lindsay Sparks to PTO

The Cleveland Monsters have signed forward Lindsay Sparks to a player tryout contract (PTO). Sparks spent one game with Cleveland earlier this season.

Lindsay Sparks is returning to the Cleveland Monsters on a player tryout contract. This is the second PTO Sparks has signed with Cleveland, previously signing at the end of February. Sparks appeared in one game for the Monsters in his last stint. Cleveland takes on Laval Rocket for two games on Thursday and Friday.

Lindsay Sparks has spent the majority of this time with the Brampton Beast of the East Coast Hockey League. Sparks has 48 points on the year (22 goals, 26 assists) in 53 games. The 29-year old forward spent the 2018-19 season in Denmark and Sweden, totaling 11 points in 33 games across two leagues.

Sparks did appear in 22 games for the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL in the 2016-17 season. Sparks did manage to register 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 22 games of action.

The last time Lindsay Sparks saw action in the AHL was back in 2017-18 with the Providence Bruins. Sparks failed to register any points in his five-game stint with Providence.

Considering the last PTO only lasted one game, Lindsay Sparks may not have a lengthy stay with the Monsters.
