Jordan Humphreys claimed, Adam Cimber DFA’d

The Cleveland Baseball Club has claimed the former San Francisco Giants pitcher off waivers.

A couple of moves were made by the Cleveland Baseball Club on Wednesday. The club claimed pitcher Jordan Humphreys off waivers and designated Adam Cimber for assignment.

Adam Cimber has been with the team since 2018 and that may be coming to an end. Cimber’s value was impacted when MLB implemented the three batter minimum rule. This is in addition to his poor performance the past two seasons. Cimber is someone who just does not register many strikeouts and also walks a fair amount of batters. With James Karinchak already a prominent bullpen arm and the return of Emmanuel Clase next season, Cleveland may not view Cimber as a part of their future.

Jordan Humphreys is someone who has spent most of his career with the New York Mets organization. Humphreys has only pitched in the minors and did not pitch during the 2020 season. The Mets traded Humphreys to the Giants in exchange for outfielder Billy Hamilton. Having been designated for assignment by San Francisco, Cleveland decided to take a chance on the 24-year old right hander.
