John Dorsey is fixing the leaks

John Dorsey is doing everything he can to eliminate leaks in the Cleveland Browns organization.

For the longest time leaks in the Cleveland Browns organization were a constant problem. Any sort of information good or bad would end up as news sooner rather than later. With new general manager John Dorsey in charge the leaks are being found out and eliminated. First it was the firing of Hue Jackson and his Twitter mouthpiece Mike Silver. Now it is the interesting, but ultimately false information being sent out to Adam Schefter. Dorsey may have found himself another leak.

Condoleezza Rice and Reuben Foster rumors

The first false report was the rumored interest in Condoleezza Rice. Adam Schefter reported that the Browns were going to interview the former Secretary of State for their head coaching position. The Browns shot down this almost immediately. While Rice does have an extensive football background, she has no prior coaching experience. The reality is that any sort of position with the Browns would be a stepping stone towards potentially becoming the NFL Commissioner.

The latest rumor was involving Reuben Foster. Again Schefter reported incorrect information that stated the Browns claimed Foster on waivers after San Francisco released him. It turns out that was not the case as Foster is now with the Washington Redskins. It is a good thing that Cleveland did not claim the linebacker. Foster has a history with domestic violence and may not even play anytime soon. Football aside, Foster does not appear to be a good person and nothing positive would come from bringing him in.

With these reports of incorrect information surfacing in back-to-back weeks, Dorsey may have found himself another leak. It may even be multiple leaks. Dorsey could be telling only select people false information to discover whether or not they are the source of the leak. It is hard to argue with this method. That is as long as positive results come of it.

At the end of the day all teams have leaks. The idea that no organization has a leak is blasphemous, they all do.  The best franchises do everything they can to keep them to a minimum.  If John Dorsey can keep leaks to a minimum it is a step in the right direction.
