After some speculation about his job status, John Beilein will remain in place as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It’s been a new filled day for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Some roster transactions, an update on a player’s injury and the confirmation that John Beilein will remain with the team.
John Beilein claims to have made a mistake when reviewing film with team. The usage of the word “thugs” was the term in question. This prompted general manager Koby Altman to travel to meet the Beilein and the team. Altman was on a scouting trip in the south.
Beilein apologized to everyone involved and the team is moving forward with him as their head coach.
Dan Gilbert was even consulted about the matter. This just hows series the organization was handling the issue. Gilbert has been in Detroit recovering from a stroke he suffered in May.
The good news is that the team and management accepted his apology. This could have gone very poorly. It had public relations nightmare written all over it. While it is still a nightmare, things appear to be heading in a more positive direction.
The Cavaliers have had a difficult season both on and off the court. The incident with John Beilein was just the latest in a series of events that have painted the Cavaliers in a negative light.
