Indians rally to defeat Dodgers 4-2

Coming into the seventh inning trailing 2-1, the Cleveland Indians managed to score three runs over the final few innings to defeat the Dodgers 4-2.

Shane Bieber had a strong outing for the Indians Tuesday, allowing two hits on five hits in five innings and striking out six. Unfortunately Bieber was not able to come away with the win due to the Indians trailing until the seventh inning. Tyler Olson gets credit for the victory. A.J. Cole and Nick Goody each got a hold while Jared Robinson gets the save.

The only blemishes for Bieber Tuesday were two solo home runs surrendered in the fourth inning. A.J. Pollock and Russell Martin each homered to give Los Angeles the lead. Justin Grimm was the only Indians reliever to allow a hit in the game, in fact he allowed two. The group of Cole, Goody and Robinson did not allow a hit in 3.2 innings of work. Goody and Robinson each struck out two batters.

The Indians offense got started with a Jake Bauers RBI single in the top of the third. Bauers drove home Tyler Naquin. The comeback started in the seventh inning. Eric Stamets reached base on a walk, this got the tying run on base. Eric Haase came in as a pinch hitter for Hanley Ramirez and did exactly what was needed. Haase hit a two-run homer to give the Indians a 3-2 lead. The Indians would add one more run in the ninth courtesy of a Nellie Rodriguez sacrifice fly. Eric Haase, the hero from earlier in the game, was one to come across and score.

The three run rally is a good sign to see from a rather uninspiring offensive spring for Cleveland. While most of the damage came against pitchers who have struggled this spring, it is encouraging nonetheless.

Cleveland will take on the Los Angeles Angels Wednesday at 9:05 P.M and the San Francisco Giants at 10:05 P.M.
