Dan Otero would relieve Perez and not allow a hit in two thirds of an inning. Pitching a 1-2-3 ninth, Brad Hand got his fifth save of the season. Hand struck out two batters to close the game.

Jason Kipnis would follow with an RBI single of his own, making it 2-0 Tribe. Jose Ramirez hit his first home run of the year, a 401 foot solo shot to extend the Indians lead to three. Jose Ramirez would score again in the eighth inning on a wild pitch.

With the bases loaded Greg Allen was hit by a pitch, Carlos Santana scored on the play. Cleveland’s final run of the game came in the ninth inning. Carlos Santana came through with an RBI single. Santana would advance to second, then third due to an error.
