Cleveland Browns left tackle Greg Robinson has been arrested at the United States-Mexico border with a large amount of marijuana.
Well this should make the impending decision about the future of Greg Robinson in Cleveland just a bit easier. Robinson was arrested on the border of the United States and Mexico with a large amount of marijuana per TMZ Sports.
According to the report, Robinson is being charged with possession and with intent to distribute. That’s a big deal and a bit more serious than the typical possession charge.
Now onto to his future with the Browns. What future? It’s over for Greg Robinson in Cleveland. If his disastrous play wasn’t enough reason to move on, this certainly is. If this arrest disrupted any plans for Cleveland’s front office that would be a major problem. There is absolutely no reason that Robinson should be back with the Browns next season, and that was before the arrest. Cleveland apparently did not have any intention of bringing Robinson back next season per Mary Kay Cabot.
The only way he could have returned was if John Dorsey was still in charge. Dorsey couldn’t care less about morals and frequently took chances on players with character/off the field issues. Bringing Robinson back after this would be a John Dorsey special discount move. That is if Robinson is even able to play next season. Any chance of that happening could be in serious jeopardy after this arrest.
Luckily Cleveland will have plenty of options in the draft. Free agency is also a possibility for Andrew Berry and Co. to explore to find a solution at the tackle position. A couple of recent mocks drafts, one from Charlie Casserly and another from Tom Fornelli have Cleveland taking Jedrick Wills Jr. out of Alabama. Most tackle options at the top of the upcoming draft should be better options for Cleveland than Greg Robinson.
